Presenting here is vintage (circa 1970s) Chanel classic flap with mademoiselle chain handle, featuring 1970s-style interior in red grosgrain fabric. It still has a lot of life left in it, clean and decent condition for a 40-year-old vintage piece, truly made to last a lifetime.

Earlier version, distinguish by its straight-bordered flap, all-metal chain and lighter form, this was before Karl Lagerfeld introduced the Classic Flap with interlaced chain that we all know today.

We simply adore the earlier Mademoiselle Flap (usually from 1970s to early 1980s) as we think its design is closer to the original version 2.55 that Coco Chanel created in 1955. Plus, the gold all-metal chain gives it a grander look!

Material – Like tweed, the wool jersey is one of the traditional materials that Coco Chanel used for fashion. We like that the jersey is lighter and easier to carry than leather version. Unlike leather with shine, the “matt” appearance of wool gives the bag an understated look and bigger contrast on the gold hardware.

Double-chain Handle – A design which was just revolutionary when Coco Chanel designed the first bag in 1955. Sliding between shorter and longer lengths, this flexible feature enables the bag to be elegantly carried in hand or on shoulder.

Pockets – Like how Mademoiselle Coco Chanel envisioned and designed the 2.55 bag in 1955, this vintage flap comes with the traditional 7 pockets, each with its own function and story (a pocket for love letter, a pocket for tipping money, a pocket for lipstick).
