Before the current Mini Flap, there was this darling version from the 2000s era. Mid series 7, circa 2002-2003. Slightly smaller than the current Rectangular Mini, this vintage version is lighter and still capable of holding a large phone inside.
Like the current Mini Flap, this mini can be carried crossbody with its long chain strap, to keep your hands free.
Camellia – Story has it that the young Coco Chanel was first attracted to the camellia flower when she saw the play “La Dame aux Camélias”. Her love for this flower reignited when her lover, Boy Capel presented her a bouquet of camellia. Around 1913, Coco started introduce this signature flower on her designs.
Without fragrance or thorn, camellia flower symbolises purity and love, and Coco Chanel loved its simplicity of geometric rounded petals. The camellia flower can be found on Chanel designs, from the classic little black dress to the jewelleries, and now on the classic bag.
This mini took inspirations from Chanel’s classic little black dress with camellia brooch. Instead of the regular turn lock, an exquisite camellia charm, with hand-appliquéd petals and CC logo, decorates the bag’s centre. The minimalistic plain patent leather body echoes the simplicity and tranquility of camellia flower.
