In 1996, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Monogram, Louis Vuitton launched a remarkable “1896.1996 EDITION CENTENAIRE” collection.

This collection consists of 7 distinctive bags by 7 extraordinary forefront fashion designers:

1 – Sybilla – umbrella backpack
2 – Azzedine Alaïa – leopard print Alma bag
3 – Vivienne Westwood – bum bag
4 – Manolo Blahnik – hard-sided shoes trunk
5 – Helmut Lang – hard-sided vinyl record trunk
6 – Romeo Gigli – ovoid drawstring bag
7 – Isaac Mizrahi – clear plastic tote

All limited made and all marked with special serial number. All highly collectible and sought after around the world, some are even exhibited in museums.

The efforts of gathering 7 different designers to work on such project were truly astonishing. Art, in the form of bags!
